In designing a conceptual MP3-Player it all started by choosing a song. My chosen song is ‘I Follow Rivers’ by Lykke Li. Starting with the concepts I looked at the lyrics and the video of the song. I wanted to portray the following part of the video the most, specially in a way that the object can be built further. In the stage of the concepts to developments I realised that I technically only had flat objects and wanted something with a bit of shape and that can be taken to a next level. Therefore I started with the conceptual idea of the bracelet. Throughout designing it in the softwares I tried Rhinoceros 3D and Autodesk Inventor. I figured that Inventor was only really helpful for when I had very technical things, such as the hooks for the LED’s or the headphone jack. I had some good and ‘bad’ weeks in FabLab. There where times where I fully knew what I was doing but one small hiccup in the printing process can become problematic. In the process of designing and developing the object I had to restart from the beginning every time as you can't go back to the beginning once saved and closed. I tried to eliminate that with coping and pasting before doing something new but often because it was such a small bit I forgot to do so. This process took very long but once I knew what I had to do it became easier and quicker. I think that I was somewhat up to date at every session and managed to have models/ designs in the software with me.
